Command Palette & World Lore Panel
Last updated Sep 21, 2026
Opening the Command Palette
Press Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows/Linux) from any page in the app to open the command palette. Start typing to search:
- Compendium — monsters and spells, everywhere.
- Your campaigns — every campaign you DM or play in, everywhere.
- NPCs and Locations — only when you're currently viewing something inside a campaign (the palette figures out which campaign from the page you're on).
Use ↑/↓ to move through results, Enter to jump to the highlighted one, and Escape to close the palette.
Quick Actions
Clear the search box, or type >, to see quick actions instead of search results:
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
> New NPC |
Opens a quick-create panel for a new NPC without leaving the page. DM/co-DM only, and only shown inside a campaign. |
> New Location |
Same, for a new Location. |
> Roll 1d20 |
Rolls a d20. Inside a campaign, the roll broadcasts live — anyone with a shared dice roller open for that campaign (combat tracker, player portal) sees it too. Outside a campaign, it's a private roll only you see. |
> Open Battle Map |
Jumps to the campaign's active combat, or the combats list if nothing is running. Only shown inside a campaign. |
Typing a word after > filters the list — > roll jumps straight to the dice action.
The World Lore Panel
On the Encounter Builder (edit page) and a character sheet (view or edit), click the book icon in the page header to open a split-screen lore panel alongside your work — it shares the page instead of covering it, so you can keep it open while you fill out an encounter or review a character.
- Search filters entries by title or category as you type.
- Click an entry to open its full page in a new tab. The panel itself is read-only — editing happens on the lore entry's own page.
- Your open/closed choice is remembered per campaign, so it stays out of the way until you want it again.
The panel only appears when the page is tied to a specific campaign — a character not yet assigned to any campaign won't show the toggle.
