Character Details

Backstory

The play was called "The Duke's New Clothes," and it was Zephyra's masterpiece — a musical comedy that named names, quoted real correspondence, and ended with the duke character drowning in a river of his own tax receipts. The audience loved it. The duke did not. The Moonrise Theater burned three days later. Zephyra lost everything: her stage, her troupe, and the only home she'd known since leaving the orphanage at fourteen. What she didn't lose was the notebook — three hundred pages of secrets, rumors, and damning facts she'd collected from servants, courtesans, and drunk nobles over eight years of performances. The duke wants the notebook. Half the court wants the notebook. Zephyra wants justice, and she's learned that a well-placed verse cuts deeper than any sword.
