Backstory

Vellara was a mid-ranking priestess of Lolth who made the fatal mistake of showing mercy to a surface elf prisoner. The punishment was to be slow and creative. She ran instead, into the wild tunnels between the Underdark and the surface — passages that even drow avoid, where the boundary between the material plane and the Feywild grows thin. She was dying of thirst and spider venom when the Maiden of Thorns found her. The archfey offered a bargain: life, freedom, and power, in exchange for a simple task. Plant a seed in every settlement she visits. Water it with a drop of her blood. Walk away. The seeds grow into flowers of impossible beauty — moonpale blooms that sing at night and never wilt. Vellara has planted seventeen so far. She's noticed that the flowers attract strange insects, and that the insects are getting larger.

Hair

White, woven with living vines that flower in moonlight

A slight drow woman whose white hair has been colonized by delicate green vines — a gift (or mark) from her patron. The vines bloom with tiny luminous flowers when she casts magic. She wears layered surface clothing in forest colors, as if trying to disappear into the world she escaped to.
