Character Details
Milo Thorngage was raised in the rolling hills of the Five Shires, a peaceful halfling realm where the greatest excitement was usually a particularly competitive pie-baking contest. But Milo was always different — he spent his youth sneaking past the Shire border patrols to explore the edges of the Black Eagle Barony and the trackless forests beyond. When a Thyatian tax collector's caravan went missing near Milo's village, he tracked the wreckage to a hidden goblin cave and returned with the stolen goods, earning the reluctant admiration of the local sheriff. Word of Milo's talent spread to human merchants in Specularum who needed a scout capable of navigating the dangerous trade routes of Karameikos. Now Milo ranges across the Known World, trading his sharp eyes and quick feet for coin and the chance to see what lies beyond the next hill. He sends half his earnings home to his widowed mother, though he'd never admit it to his traveling companions.
"I talk to myself when I'm scouting ahead — it keeps me calm, and I always give the best advice."
"Freedom. No one should be trapped in one place their whole life when the world has so many paths to explore."
"The Five Shires will always be home. I send coin back to my mother and dream of returning with stories worth telling."
"My curiosity overwhelms my caution — I'll investigate a strange noise in a dungeon before checking for traps."

A small, wiry halfling with perpetually dirt-smudged cheeks and bright, inquisitive eyes that dart about constantly. He wears well-worn leather armor patched with scraps from half a dozen different sources, and carries an absurd number of pouches on his belt, each containing some trinket or tool he deemed essential.
