Character Details
Echo — if that is even their real name — was trained from childhood by the King's Dark Lanterns of Breland as a deep-cover operative. During the Last War, they infiltrated courts in Karrnath, Aundair, and Thrane, adopting identities so completely that they sometimes forgot which face was real. When the war ended, the Dark Lanterns tried to "retire" Echo permanently — loose ends and all that. Echo survived the assassination attempt, barely, and vanished into Sharn's underbelly. Now they sell intelligence to fund their personal war against the Lanterns, wearing a different face every day and trusting absolutely no one.
"I instinctively mimic the mannerisms of whoever I'm talking to. I can't help it."
"Freedom. I am done being someone else's weapon."
"Somewhere in my past is a face that was truly mine. I intend to find it."
"I lie reflexively, even when the truth would serve me better."

In their natural form, Echo is eerily blank — smooth white skin, featureless pale eyes, and no distinguishing marks whatsoever. They rarely show this face. Most often they appear as a nondescript human of average height and forgettable features, the kind of person your eyes slide right past.
