Character Details
Ilyana served in a temple of Lathander in Silverymoon, where her days began with the dawn prayer and ended with the twilight meditation. She was traveling to a remote village to establish a new shrine when the mists rose around her and deposited her in Barovia — a land where the sun is a pale, sickly disc behind perpetual clouds and the concept of dawn feels like a cruel joke. Yet Ilyana's faith burns undimmed. She has discovered that her divine light causes the undead of Barovia to recoil with unusual intensity, as though they have not seen true radiance in centuries. The Barovians look at her with a mixture of hope and suspicion, and somewhere in his castle, Strahd has taken notice.
"I sing hymns to the dawn even when there is no dawn to greet. Especially then."
"Hope. Light is most needed in the darkest places. That is why I am here."
"The people of Barovia have forgotten the sun. I will remind them."
"I refuse to believe that Barovia is beyond saving, even when the evidence says otherwise."

A serene elf in white and gold vestments that seem to glow faintly even in Barovia's perpetual gloom. She carries a sunburst holy symbol that radiates genuine warmth, and her mere presence seems to push back the shadows by a few feet. Her expression is calm but resolute, and her eyes reflect light that isn't there.
