Backstory & Personality
I announce my intentions openly and honestly, even to my enemies. Deception is beneath a servant of the light.
Justice. Every soul in the multiverse deserves protection from the predations of fiends, regardless of which plane they call home.
My mentor Hadriel entrusted me with a shard of celestial crystal that can detect fiendish corruption. I guard it with my life and use it to root out evil wherever it hides.
I see the multiverse in black and white. My inability to accept moral gray areas has made me enemies in Sigil, where everyone occupies some shade of gray.
Seraphiel was raised in the celestial realm of Mount Celestia, guided by a deva named Hadriel who served as both guardian and mentor. From childhood, she was told that she had a great purpose — to carry the light of the Upper Planes into the darkest corners of the multiverse. When Hadriel received word that fiendish influence was growing unchecked in Sigil, the City of Doors, Seraphiel was sent to investigate and counter it. She arrived in Sigil with absolute certainty in her mission and her faith, but the city has proven far more complex than the celestial hierarchies prepared her for. In Sigil, good and evil are not always clearly defined, the factions play by rules that defy divine logic, and the Lady of Pain answers to no god. Seraphiel struggles to apply her rigid moral framework to a city that defies all frameworks, and she is slowly learning that justice in the planes requires more than a strong sword arm and unwavering faith.
